Summer Hockey Is Back & Week #1 Delivered
The 2026 Shoreline Hockey Summer League officially kicked off with three exciting game nights packed with big goals, comeback pushes, highlight-reel moments, and strong compete across all four divisions. From tight battles to statement wins and the debut of the Canadiens, Week #1 gave every team an early chance to make noise! π₯
π 3 Game Nights. 4 Divisions. One Strong Opening Week.
π° Rookie Division
Opening week brought hustle, close battles & early confidence builders for the leagueβs youngest players.
β’ The Bruins opened the season with a strong 7β1 win over the Hawks, generating offence throughout the night while Caellum Johnston and Fox Kelly helped pace the attack. Despite the result, the Hawks battled hard and found a spark through Cooper Tell.
β’ The Hawks bounced back later in the week with a tight 4β2 victory over the Leafs in one of the divisionβs best battles of opening week. The Leafs briefly grabbed momentum, but timely third-period goals helped the Hawks close it out. Hudson Whalen led the way with two goals while Vincent Abrams and Cooper Tell added key offence.
β’ Strong goaltending also helped shape the week, with players battling through pressure and keeping games competitive.

ΏοΈ Pro Division
Goals came in bunches in Pro action as momentum swung wildly and offensive stars wasted no time making their mark.
β’ The Hawks opened the summer with a 10β1 win over the Bruins, using balanced scoring and sustained pressure to build momentum early. Jack Snyder led the charge with a hat trick while Jacob Elwazani, Eli Coffell, and Charles Smit each chipped in multi-goal efforts.
β’ The Canadiens made a statement in their SHL debut, edging the Leafs 8β7 in one of the wildest games of Week #1. The Leafs pushed hard with a huge four-goal performance from Neville Cummings, but back-to-back hat tricks from Asher Walker and Preston Johnston powered the Canadiens in a game that stayed up for grabs until the final buzzer.
β’ Early signs point to a division loaded with scoring depth and high-paced hockey.
β All-Star Division
Balanced offence, strong puck movement & momentum swings highlighted an entertaining first week.
β’ The Leafs opened with a 5β2 win over the Bruins in a tightly played matchup where shots finished even at 17β17. Zachary Dekkingβs hat trick and a three-assist night from Camden Brigden proved to be the difference in a game that stayed competitive throughout.
β’ The Hawks followed with a 6β2 win over the Wings thanks to a complete team effort led by Holten Wolfe, Benson Wolfe, and Santino Buckland, while strong goaltending helped settle momentum swings.
β’ The Leafs and Canadiens wrapped up Week #1 with a fast-paced 5β3 battle featuring plenty of chances at both ends. Rory Peckham powered the Leafs attack with 2G, 1A while Nolan Cross answered with a big effort for the Canadiens in a game that stayed within reach throughout.
π’ ELITE DIVISION
Compete levels were high all week as Elite teams traded momentum, big saves & clutch goals.
β’ Opening night featured a tight 3β2 Bruins win over the Leafs, with the Bruins building an early cushion before surviving a late Leafs push. Logan Kiely scored twice while strong goaltending helped protect the lead late.
β’ The Hawks responded with a strong 10β1 win over the Wings behind a complete team effort, with Ryerson Mink, Hank Willis, and Colton Perkins helping drive offence while steady goaltending anchored the game.
β’ The Canadiens made a statement in their Elite debut, defeating the Hawks 6β1 behind timely finishing and a hat trick from Tucker Schmitt, showing early depth in one of the leagueβs deepest divisions.
